Diffusion and Innovations Blog #8

 Diffusion and Innovations

Dating Apps Gary Kremen founded the Match.com the site was built as a pioneer of the online industry since 1955's. Back in the early days dating was in person no one person met through dating apps or online dates even being set up on blind dates that are always not that fun. Magdalene J. Taylor stated "The golden age of dating apps is over, "New York Times she had a friend tell tell her at at bar on Super bowl Sunday she was waiting for her drinks and had another friend swiping through bumble and all the other dating apps like hinge which I find very ironic because there could be two other guys at the same place and time swiping through their phones and they don't even look up to see each other. Dating apps haven't spread enough yet through the pioneers due to the fact dating was either shamed upon in the older generation or not as common but they still met face to face.

Due to the fact humans become early adapters is the fact in the New York Times"The internet, where so many of us spend so much time has not been spared from the decline in quality that seems to plague so much of consumer life" New York Times. I wouldn't say people are becoming late adapters due to the fact  because dating apps are well known possibly the older generation's like are grandparent's and parents etc.

Negative Affects of using dating apps in the danger just like the older generation they don't have experience on theses apps, meeting people naturally etc. But know dating apps our getting more common every day, There are more negative effects according to Utah State University" According to a 2013 Pew Internet study of adults using online dating, 42% of women reported having been contacted by someone who made them feel harassed or uncomfortable"Utah State University In general dating apps can put people in danger from meeting at a bar the thought in the back of there minds of either being kidnapped, harassed, followed or even much worse it may cause women to being rapped. According to Fortune.com " A survey conducted in 2019 founded that 31% of the women reported being sexually assaulted or raped by somone they had met through an online dating appFortune.
